Here's the difference between adding a friend and accepting a friend request on Snapchat:
Adding a Friend: This is you initiating the connection. You are actively seeking to connect with someone else. You can add someone on Snapchat using their username, Snapcode, from your phone's contact list, or through mutual friends/groups. When you add someone, they will receive a notification that you've added them, but they are not automatically your friend until they accept.
Accepting a Friend: This is you responding to someone else's request. Someone has already added you. By accepting, you are confirming that you want to be friends with that person on Snapchat, allowing you both to send Snaps and chat with each other.
